No. 29 CHC Rejected C.R.M.(A) 2046 of 2023 In Re:- An application for anticipatory bail under Section 438 of the Code of Criminal Procedure in connection with Narayangarh Police Station Case No. 100 of 2020 dated 22.07.2020 under Sections 447/ 354/ 354B/ 326/ 379/ 307/506/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, adding Section 4(i) of Explosive Substances Act, 1908.

...... petitioners Mr. Dipanjan Chatterjee ....for the petitioners Mr. Shiladitya Banerjee ....for the State The injury report suggests that the injured suffered simple cut injuries inflicted by a sharp cutting weapon. The police case is dated July 22, 2020.

There is an issue of long absconsion of the petitioners. All the petitioners stand implicated in the incident of assault and the offences in respect of which, police filed chargesheet against the petitioners. Considering the gravity of the offence and involvement of the petitioners in the incident, we are unable to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioners.

CRM (A) 2046 of 2023 is rejected.
