The petitioner, to pursue B.Com (General) course for the academic session 2019-2022, took admission at Surendranath Evening College, a college under the University of Calcutta. The petitioner was unsuccessful in one of the papers in the 6th semester examination of the said course held in the year 2023 i.e., Financial Management [paper code: DSE6 2AG]. To clear the said paper, the petitioner though had taken supplementary examination in two successive years i.e. 2023 & 2024 but was unsuccessful.

The petitioner has applied for self inspection of his evaluated answer script of the said paper.

The grievance of the petitioner is that the University is not providing him such inspection.

Mr. Nilotpal Chatterjee, learned advocate for the University submits that the answer scripts for the year 2023 is not available but such inspection can be provided to the petitioner for the examination held in the year 2024.

The petitioner since has taken the supplementary examination held in the year 2024, no fruitful purpose would be served by taking inspection of the answer script of the examination held in the year 2023.

The University therefore, is directed to provide inspection to the petitioner of his evaluated answer script for the paper Financial Management [paper code: DSE6 2AG] of the 6th semester examination of the said course held in the year 2024 as

expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of three weeks from date.

WPA 12503 of 2025 is disposed of with the above terms without any order as to costs.
