Petitioner is in custody for two years and nine months. It is submitted that there is slow progress in the trial of the case.

Learned Advocate appearing for the State opposes the prayer for bail.

We have considered the materials on record. Victim housewife suffered homicidal death at the matrimonial home. Petitioner was present at the place of occurrence. In view of the aforesaid clinching materials and the gravity of the offence, we are not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail.

However, we request the trial court to conduct the trial at an early date without granting unnecessary adjournments to either of the parties.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.
