Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for seven and a half years and last of the 9 dates reflect that date has been fixed for examination of the accused under Section 313 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, but till date the said stage is not over. Learned advocate appearing for the State, on the other hand, opposes the prayer for bail.

Having considered the advanced stage of the case, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail. As such, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected. Learned Trial Court is specifically directed to put in all efforts so that judgement in the present case may be pronounced by 31.08.2026.

Learned Registrar General, High Court, Calcutta is directed to communicate this order to the learned Trial Court.

Memo of evidence submitted by the learned advocate appearing for the State be kept with the record. The application for bail, being CRM (M) 1334 of 2026, is, thus, disposed of.
