None appears on behalf of the State despite service. Affidavit of service filed in Court is taken on record. The petitioners are distributors of rice under the Mid Day Meal Scheme. According to the petitioners, the distribution charges are to be paid in accordance with the revised norms of central assistance for Transportation Assistance under National Programme of Mid Day Meal in Schools dated 14th March, 2019 which has been adopted by the State of West Bengal by an order dated 14th July, 2020 issued by the Principal Secretary, School Education Department.

The grievance of the petitioners is that they are not being paid in accordance with the revised norms of payment as laid down by the Government of India followed by the Government of West Bengal.

It appears that prior to approaching the writ Court for relief, the petitioners have not made any representation before the concerned authority praying for implementation of the aforesaid norms.

In view of the above, the instant writ petition is disposed of by granting liberty to the writ petitioners to apply before the concerned authority highlighting their grievances along with supporting documents. In the event, such representation is made, the addressee shall consider the same strictly in accordance with the available norms at the earliest.

The writ petition is disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties on completion of usual formalities.
