In the matter of : Nikhil Ghosh & Anr.
.... Petitioners.
Mr. Sekhar Kr. Basu, Ld. Sr. Adv., Mr. Diptangshu Basu.
...for the Petitioners.
Mr. Madhusudan Sur, ld. A.P.P., Mr. Manoranjan Mahata.
...for the State.
Heard the learned Counsels appearing on behalf of the parties.
It is submitted that the instant case arose out of a land dispute amongst family members.
Learned Advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail.
We have considered the materials on record. Statements of witnesses show petitioners and others assaulted the victim with various weapons. As a result, two persons died. In view of the gravity of offence involving death of two persons and the prima facie involvement of the petitioners herein, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioners. Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioners is rejected at this stage.
