Mr. Aniket Mitra, Ms. Jonaki Saha ....for the State There are statements recorded under Section 161 of the Criminal Procedure Code of eyewitnesses, stating that all the petitioners were involved in the incident of assault on the victim. The victim was removed to the hospital. The injury report corroborates the statements of the eyewitnesses. The eyewitnesses also speak of torture being meted out on the victim and demand for dowry being made by the petitioners.

In view of the gravity of the offence and the involvement of the petitioners in the incidents complained of, we are unable to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioners.

CRM (A) 2052 of 2023 is rejected.
