Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for 512 days and the prosecution till date has examined 6 witnesses out of 45 witnesses proposed to be examined. Learned advocate submits that there is no possibility of the trial concluding in near future, as such, petitioner may be released on bail.

Learned advocate for the State has submitted a report. The report reflects that the witnesses proposed to be examined and the date fixed by the learned trial court from 3rd August, 2024 to 16th September, 2026.

Having considered the schedule fixed and the efforts being taken by the learned sessions court, at this stage, having regard to the gravity of the offence, I am not inclined to release the

petitioner on bail.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner in CRM(M)1371 of 2026 is dismissed.

Report submitted by the State be kept with the record. Learned trial court would take steps to expedite the trial as was directed earlier by this Court.
