1. The present writ petition has been filed, inter alia, praying for a direction upon the respondents to allow and/or permit the organizing of a public meeting organized by the Communist Party of India (Marxist) at the ground adjacent to Golabari Taki Road on 8th June, 2026 from 4.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.

2. The State is represented.

3. Learned Advocate for the State would submit that the police authorities had never refused permission to the petitioner. Let a copy of the report filed in court today be taken on record.

4. The report would demonstrate that the petitioner has already filed an application on 4th June, 2026 and the proposal along with requisite 'No Objection' was duly forwarded to the Sub-Divisional Officer, Barasat for consideration and appropriate action. Since the State at this stage would submit that there is no objection to the

petitioner's peacefully organizing a public meeting by the Communist Party of India (Marxist) at the ground adjacent to Golabari Taki Road on June 8, 2026 from 4.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. I am of the view that such meeting may be organized subject to compliance of all formalities and subject to the petitioner's maintaining Pollution Control Board's directives on sound pollution.

5. The petitioner shall also ensure that the aforesaid meeting shall not in any way interfere with the free flow of traffic though in a regulated manner and the petitioner will extend all assistance to police authorities in this regard.

6. In view of the aforesaid, nothing remains in this writ petition. Accordingly, WPA 12282 of 2026 stands disposed of.

7. Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all necessary formalities.
