Petitioner Mr. Arnab Saha .....for the Petitioner Ms. Sukanya Bhattacharyya Mr. Mirza Firoj Ahmed Begg ....for the State The petitioner prays for expeditious hearing of NDPS case no. 264 of 2018 under Sections 21(C ) /29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, pending before the learned Additional Session Judge, 2nd Court at Berhampore, Murshidabad.

It has been submitted by the learned advocate for the petitioner, that the petitioner is in custody for three years. It has also been submitted that though the schedule of evidence was fixed on four occasions, till date no evidence has been recorded. In this pandemic situation, it is not expected of the learned Judge in the Court below to conduct the trial with normal pace.

However, keeping in mind the innocuous nature of the prayer of the petitioner, this revisional application is disposed of with a direction upon the learned Judge in the Court below to make an endeavour to conclude the trial preferably within a period of one year from this date.

Accordingly, CRR 1601 of 2021 is disposed of.
