Affidavit-of-service filed on behalf of the petitioner is taken on record.

Petitioner prays for extending 20 years service benefit under career advancement scheme.

It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that petitioner obtained 10 years service benefit but till date 20 years service benefit under career advancement scheme has not been paid to the petitioner. Petitioner was Depot Cashier, who retired on superannuation on 31st July, 2017.

It is further submitted on behalf of the petitioner that similarly circumstanced other candidates of North Bengal State Transport Corporation have received 20 years service benefit under career advancement scheme.

Mr. Amal Kumar Sen, learned Additional Advocate General is representing North Bengal State Transport

Corporation, who submits that petitioner though retired on superannuation on 31st July, 2017 but as a representation of the petitioner dated 2nd September, 2024 claiming 20 years service benefit is pending before the concerned authority, same may be decided, in accordance with law.

Having considered the respective submissions made on behalf of the parties, Court finds no purpose would be sub-served in keeping this writ petition pending.

Accordingly, Managing Director of North Bengal State Transport Corporation being respondent no.2 is directed to decide the representation of the petitioner dated 2nd September, 2024 whereby petitioner has sought for releasing 20 years service benefit under career advancement scheme by eight

(8) weeks from the date of communication of this order.

Respondent no.2 shall pass reasoned order after granting opportunity of hearing to the petitioner or his representative and same shall be communicated to the petitioner by fortnight thereafter.

With the above directions writ petition stands disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon usual undertakings.
