Upon being informed that a portion of their land was intended to be acquired and utilised by the Food Corporation of India through the private respondent, the petitioners submitted a representation before the concerned authority on 13th April, 2023 demonstrating that they had no objection to acquisition of land in terms of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 upon compensation being paid

to them in terms of the said Act. In reply to the said representation, the petitioners were informed that the Food Corporation of India was not acquiring any land for the intended project and the project was awarded to the private respondent for purchase of the required land under private settlement with the land owners. It is submitted on behalf of Food Corporation of India that acquisition process has been completed and the petitioners' land is no longer required for the project which is in progress. In other words, the Food Corporation of India or the private respondent herein does not intend to acquire the land of the petitioners or any portion thereof for the intended project. In view of the above, nothing further remains to be adjudicated in the present writ petition and the same is accordingly disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

Urgent certified website copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties on compliance of requisite formalities.
