1. Petitioner renews the prayer for anticipatory bail.

2. Learned Advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that, the learned Advocate who was conducting the earlier application for grant of anticipatory bail could not communicate the order dated April 24, 2024 permitting the petitioner to deposit 50 per cent of the final assessment bill with the distribution company. Petitioner subsequently deposited the same on May 2, 2024 by which time the prayer for anticipatory bail was rejected by the order dated April 30, 2024.

3. State and the Electricity Distribution Company are represented.

4. It is for a litigant to keep itself informed as to the development of the case. It is not for an Advocate to communicate the order.

5. Therefore, we are unable to accept the explanation offered.

6. According to us, it is a specious plea to wriggle out of the Signed By :

obligation of the petitioner. There being no change in circumstance. Therefore, we are unable to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

7. Accordingly, the prayer for anticipatory bail of the petitioner is rejected.

8. C.R.M. (A) 1640 of 2024 is dismissed.
