Affidavit of service filed in Court today is taken on record.

The petitioner is satisfied with the compliance of the order dated May 17, 2023 passed by this Court.

The police have co-operated in enabling the petitioner and other Advocates having their chamber in the building, to remove their articles.

Mr. Indrajit Bhattacharjee, learned counsel appearing in-person submits that the police cannot in the first place seal the building in connection with the investigation much less indefinitely.

This Court is of the view that a scene of alleged crime could be restricted for the limited purpose of investigation. The reason

for the same being that if an alleged crime scene is tampered with, the same may impede and/or compromise the investigation itself.

However, having regard to the fact that most of the occupants in the building are Advocates practising in this Court and other Courts in the city of Calcutta, it is directed that the building shall be unsealed for occupation by the Advocates, within a period of one month from date.

The aforesaid is subject to any statutory orders that may be passed by either the Kolkata Municipal Corporation or Fire Services Authority or the Electricity Authorities.

8.

With the aforesaid observations, the instant writ petition shall stand disposed of.

9.

There shall be no order as to costs.

10.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
