The petitioner is serving as supervisor of an ICDS project at Murshidabad. She has submitted a representation before the Director of ICDS in October 2025 mentioning about her mother's illhealth and requested to transfer her to her home town in Jalpaiguri on compassionate ground. A reminder was submitted by the petitioner in February 2026. The same has not been answered till date.

Learned counsel for the petitioner relies upon the order passed by the Director of ICDS on February 24, 2026 in support of the submission that there is provision for transfer of supervisors from one ICDS project to another.

Prayer has been made to direct the respondents to consider the prayer of the petitioner.

Learned counsel for the State is not ready with instruction.

As it appears that the representation of the

petitioner seeking transfer to her home town is pending consideration before the Director ICDS, accordingly, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the second respondent, the Director of ICDS, Government of West Bengal, to take a decision on the petitioner's prayer for transfer in accordance with the prevailing rules at the earliest but positively within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order.

If the prayer of the petitioner is allowed, then necessary consequential steps shall be taken by the aforesaid respondent.

Learned counsel for the petitioner shall forward a copy of the subject representation seeking transfer along with all other supporting documents to the aforesaid respondent at the time of communicating this order.

All parties are to act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Certified copy of this order, if applied for, shall be made available to the parties.
