1. Despite service, none appears for the respondents.

2. Affidavit of service filed in court today be kept on record.

3. The petitioner applied for a new electricity connection and a quotation was issued by the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL) on the basis of such application on June 09, 2023. The amount in respect thereof was deposited on June 19, 2023 by the petitioner. However, till date, the connection has not been given by the WBSEDCL.

4. It transpires that there is every probability that cultivation is going on in the nearby area where the connection is sought. Accordingly, some time ought to be given to the WBSEDCL to give connection to the petitioner.

5. Accordingly, W.P.A. No. 13143 of 2024 is disposed of by directing the WBSEDCL to give electricity connection to the petitioner, subject to compliance of all formalities by the petitioner, by June 15, 2024 positively.

6. It is made clear that in the event need be, the WBSEDCL shall take resort to Rule 3 of the Works of Licensees Rules, 2006 for the purpose of giving such connection to the petitioner.

7. There will be no order as to costs.

8. Urgent Photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties subject to compliance of all necessary formalities.
