Learned advocate appearing for the distribution company submits that the distribution company is ready and willing to provide electricity connection to the petitioner. However, distribution company was resisted by the private respondents. He seeks police protection.
In the facts of the present case, since the distribution company is ready and willing to provide electricity connection to the petitioner, the distribution company will proceed to do so upon payment of costs, charges and expenses and compliance of all formalities by the petitioner. In the event, the distribution company is obstructed in providing new electricity connection to the petitioner,
the distribution company will approach the local police authorities for necessary assistance. Police are directed to provide necessary assistance to the distribution company to enable the company to provide new electricity connection to the petitioner. In the event, any electric pole is erected on any land belonging to a third party, such party is at liberty to approach the appropriate forum for compensation, in accordance with law. It is expected that new electricity connection is provided to the petitioner within a period of fortnight from the date of compliance of all formalities and payment of costs, charges and expenses by the petitioner.
Accordingly, the writ application being WPA 12820 of 2021 is disposed of.
