The petitioner alleges inaction on the part of the police. Mr. Lahiri, learned Advocate representing the petitioner, submits that the petitioner has lodged several complaints to the police authorities and the last of such complaint is dated 13th May, 2023. Mr. Lahiri in his usual fairness submits that the said complaint is a comprehensive one as all allegations made in the earlier complaints find place in the complaint dated 13th May, 2023.

Mr. Lahiri, learned Advocate for the petitioner further submits that the police authorities are not receiving the complaints made by the petitioner. It is observed that it is the duty of the police authorities to accept the complaints from a complainant.

The learned Advocate representing the State files a report signed by the Officer-in-Charge, Haripal

Police Station dated 22nd May, 2023. The said report is taken on record. It appears from the said report that on the basis of the complaint dated 13th May, 2023 the FIR was registered giving rise to Haripal Police Station case no. 215/2023 dated 21.05.2023 under provision of sections 147/149/323/325/427/379/504/506 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.

Since the FIR has been registered, it goes without saying that the Investigating Officer is to conclude the investigation at the earliest.

The WPA No. 12275 of 2023 is disposed of by directing the concerned Investigating Officer to conclude the investigation at the earliest and to take steps in accordance with law.

The police authorities shall ensure that no breach of peace take place at the locale.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
