The petitioner alleges that three separate job cards have been issued in favour of the private respondent in respect of MGMREGA Work Project of 100 days and Swachh Bharat Project and separate bank accounts have been opened to withdraw the money. The petitioner has sought investigation in this regard and necessary action against the miscreants.

It appears from the report submitted by the State that upon detection of such fraud, the name has been deleted from the duplicate job cards and excess amount of Rs.5,980/- deposited in the duplicate accounts has been recovered and submitted to the district authority vide memo dated September 27, 2023. Notice has been issued upon the concerned supervisors and other erring officials

directing them to show cause for negligence in their duty. Punitive action against them is contemplated. In view of the above, this Court is inclined to hold that the grievance of the petitioner in the writ petition has been redressed. Nothing further remains to be decided in the writ petition. The same is disposed of.

There shall, however, be no order as to costs. Since no affidavit is invited, the allegations contained in the writ petition are deemed not to have been admitted.
