Affidavit of service filed in Court is taken on record.

The petitioner claims interest on delayed payment of terminal benefits. The petitioner superannuated from service of the WBTCL on 28th February, 2015. The petitioner received his terminal benefits of Rs.14,07,085/- towards Provident Fund on 25.07.2015 and Rs.6,42,932/- towards gratuity and leave encashment on 03.10.2015.

The petitioner is entitled to interest for the period from 01.03.2015 to 25.07.2015 at the rate of 6 per cent per annum towards Provident Fund and from 01.03.2015 to 25.07.2015 at the rate of 6 per cent per

annum towards gratuity and leave encashment. Let the same be paid to the petitioner by the WBTCL within a period of one month from date.

In default of payment as directed above, the rate of interest shall stand increased to 9 per cent per annum.

The writ petition is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.
