Kundu, ... for the State This is an application for expeditious disposal of the trial being Case No. N 169/2020 under Section 20(b) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, pending before the learned Additional Sessions Judge, 6th Court, Barasat, North 24 Parganas.

It has been submitted by the learned advocate for the petitioner that the charge sheet has already been submitted in this case, and there is no progress in the trial thereafter. This is a case of 2020, and due to the pandemic situation, delay in proceeding with the trial cannot be attributed to the learned Judge in the Court below.

This revisional application is disposed of with a direction upon the learned Judge in the Court below to make an endeavour

to conclude the trial within a period of one and a half years from the commencement of recording of evidence.

The revisional application being C.R.R. 1608 of 2021 is, thus, disposed of.
