Petitioner Mr. Angshuman Chakraborty, ... for the petitioner Mr. Sandip Kundu, ... for the State The petitioner draws the attention of this Court to an order dated November 20, 2020, passed in C.R.M. 8873 of 2020, whereby a direction was given by this Court upon the trial Court to expedite the trial and conclude the same at the earliest without granting unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties. It is the case of the petitioner that the charge, in this case, has been framed in the month of March 2021, but the recording of evidence has not yet started.

In this pandemic situation, the delay in conducting the trial cannot be attributed to the learned Judge in the Court below. However, keeping in mind the innocuous nature of the prayer, the revisioinal application is disposed of with a direction upon the learned Additional Sessions Judge, 6th Court, Barasat, North 24 Parganas, to make an endeavour to conclude the trial within a period of one and half years from the resumption of the

normal functioning of the Court, without granting any unnecessary adjournment to the parties.

The revisional application being C.R.R. 1647 of 2020, is thus, disposed of.
