The petitioner renews his prayer for bail, which was rejected thrice earlier by this Court. The last rejection was on February 12, 2020 in CRM No.1531 of 2020.

The petitioner says that he is in custody for about five years. Only three out of 26 witnesses have been examined. The entire case is based on circumstantial evidence. There are no eyewitnesses. There is insufficient incriminating material against the petitioner.

We have seen the material in the case diary. Prima facie, the complicity of the petitioner in the alleged offence cannot be ruled out. His prayer for bail was rejected thrice

earlier. Hence, we are not inclined to allow the petitioner's prayer for bail.

C.R.M. No.5792 of 2021 is, accordingly, dismissed. However, we are conscious that the petitioner has been in custody for a very long period of time. We request the learned Trial Court to spare no efforts to expedite the trial and bring the same to an early conclusion at the earliest and preferably within a year from date without granting unnecessary adjournments to either of the parties.
