The petitioners renew their prayer for bail. This is the 3rd application insofar as the petitioner no.1 is concerned and the 4th application insofar as the petitioner no.2 is concerned. The charge is of murder. Since on a number of occasions, the prayer of the petitioners has been rejected on merits, we are not inclined to entertain such prayer, at this stage when the trial has progressed substantially.

The prayer for bail is, accordingly, rejected. CRM (DB) 1526 of 2024 is dismissed.

We are told that 9 out of 21 witnesses have already been examined. Keeping in mind that the petitioners had been in custody for a considerable period of time, we direct the learned Trial Court to conclude the trial at the earliest and definitely Signed By :

within a period of six months from the next date fixed for recording of evidence.

We clarify that in the event the trial is not concluded within the time period indicated above, the petitioners will be at liberty to renew their prayer for bail.
