The petitioner is a retired Library Assistant. Her retiral dues were not released in view of certain audit observations which was raised by the Assistant Director, Pension, Provident Fund & Group Insurance, West Bengal and communicated to the District Library Officer by a communicating Memo dated January 20, 2020.

The petitioner submits that till date the retiral dues have not been cleared.

The learned advocate representing the District Library Officer, Howrah submits upon instruction that on receipt of the aforesaid memo the documents of the

petitioner have been re-submitted after complying with the audit observations.

It has submitted that all the revised I.P.F.

Statements have been furnished with due authentication. Necessary corrections have been made in the service book at page 2 with due authentication. It is also been submitted that necessary corrections have been made in the service book at pages 28,30 and 32. As there has been overdrawal, hence overdrawal statement has been prepared and an amount of Rs. 1,97,628/- may be adjusted from her revised gratuity. The aforesaid documents of the petitioner has been re-submitted and received by the office of the Director of Pension, Provident Fund & Group Insurance on December 24, 2020.

It has been submitted that steps are being taken for releasing the retiral dues of the petitioner. As it appears that the petitioner has retired from service on May 30, 2017, accordingly, it is high time that the authorities take steps for releasing her retiral dues of the petitioner.

The instant writ petition is accordingly disposed of by directing the respondent authorities to take all necessary steps to release the retiral dues of the petitioner at the earliest but positively within a period of

twelve weeks from the date of communication of a copy of this order.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

The instruction given by the District Library Officer, Howrah to the learned advocate is retained with the records.

Affidavit-of-service filed in Court today is taken on record.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties after completion of all legal formalities.
