And In Re : Sudip Karmakar ........ petitioner Mr. Kanailal Dutta ...... for the petitioner Mr. Biduyut Kumar Roy Miss Rita Datta ...... for the State We have considered the materials on record prima facie disclosing involvement of the petitioner/husband in subjecting the victim housewife to torture resulting in her unnatural death within one year of marriage.

In view of the gravity of offence, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

The prayer for bail is, thus, rejected.
