1. The instant criminal revision has been preferred for expeditious disposal of Special Case No.21 of 2021 pending before the learned Special Court-cum-Additional Sessions Judge, Berhampore, Murshidabad under POCSO Act.

2. It appears that the instant Special Case was started in the year 2021 but till today only six witnesses have been examined out of total 17 witnesses.

3. It is contention of the learned counsel for the petitioner that the prosecution has adopted dilatory tactics in dealing with the matter so he prays for necessary order so that the instant Special Case under POCSO Act may be disposed of as early as possible.

4. Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and considering the order dated 27th September, 2024 it appears that the date for evidence of P.W.6 was fixed on 3rd July, 2025. It further appears that the four accused persons are already enlarged on bail.

5. Considering the entire circumstances and considering the specific guideline of the Hon'ble Apex Court in dealing with the offence under POCSO Act it is required to dispose of the matter as expeditiously as possible, most preferably within one year. However, this matter is pending since 2021. Thus, I think it necessary to pass a specific direction upon the learned Special Judge to dispose of the matter as expeditiously as possible.

6. Let the instant criminal revision application be disposed of with a direction to the Special Judge to dispose of the matter as expeditiously as possible, most preferably within March, 2026.

7. I make it clear that this Court has not entered into the merits of this matter.

8. The learned Special Court shall dispose of the Special Case under POCSO Act according to law after giving reasonable opportunity to all the parties without giving any unnecessary adjournment to the prosecution.

9. Accordingly, CRR 2413 of 2025 is disposed of. (Subhendu Samanta, J.)
