Election for the constitution of the Board of Directors of the Islampur Mahila Credit Co-operative Society Limited is due for a long time. The tenure of the erstwhile Board of Directors expired on 9th September, 2022.

The Special Officer took charge of the Cooperative society on 6th January, 2023 but till date no steps have been taken for holding the election. The instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the Special Officer, Islampur Mahila Credit Co-operative Society Limited to take steps for

conducting the election of the co-operative society under the supervision of the Co-operative Election Commission in accordance with law.

The election should positively be conducted and concluded within a period of six months from the date of communication of this order.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
