Rishab Keshari @ Risab Keshari v. State Of West Bengal
18/06/2026 D/L - 52 Court No.28 S. Kundu Rejected C.R.M.(A) 1674 of 2026 In Re: An application for anticipatory bail under Section 482 of the BNSS, 2023. In connection with Naihati P.S case no. 156 of 2025 dated 18/06/2025 under sections 107 of the BNS.
In the matter of: Rishab Keshari @ Risab Keshari
...Petitioner.
Mr. Anit Dey Mr. Ankan Santra ...for the petitioner.
Mr. Somnath Bera ...for the State.
1. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as follows. The petitioner has been falsely implicated in this case. The petitioner and the alleged victim were merely friends. The victim was actually having an affair with another person. Due to family disputes, she might have committed suicide at her own house.
2. Learned counsel appearing for the State relies on the case diary and opposes the prayer for anticipatory bail. He refers to the post-mortem report and the statements of witnesses including those of the victim. The victim was admittedly a minor on the date of occurrence. From the statements, it would appear that the petitioner had entered into a romantic relationship with the minor victim. He would take her to places and even had physical relationship with her. As per the statements, for
some time, the petitioner and his family members were mentally torturing the victim. As would appear from the FIR, on the fateful day, i.e. on 15/06/2025, after coming back with the minor victim, the petitioner abused her and asked her to commit suicide. Even the victim's friend, who is an independent witness, refers to the state of mind of the alleged victim after going out with the petitioner on 15/06/2025.
3. Considering the above and the other incriminating materials available in the case diary, I do not consider this to be a fit case to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
4. Accordingly, the application for anticipatory bail is rejected.
5. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance with requisite formalities.
