Citing inaction on the part of the concerned police authorities in taking appropriate steps despite receiving a complaint from the petitioner, the present writ petition has been filed.

The petitioner has alleged that the private respondents, along with several unknown persons, used abusive language and threatened him with dire consequences. Although this information was brought to the notice of the police authorities, no appropriate steps were taken by them. This inaction has prompted the petitioner to file the present writ petition. Md. Ahsanuzzaman, learned advocate representing the State, has submitted written instructions. He contends that upon receipt of the

complaint, a probe was conducted, and upon its completion, the Investigating Officer concluded that no cognizable offence had been made out. With regard to the issue, it is further submitted that the present situation in the area is peaceful and that the police authorities are maintaining strict vigil to prevent any untoward incident. The report, as produced on behalf of the State is taken on record.

Having heard the learned advocates representing the respective parties and upon perusal of the record, taking note of the written instructions produced on behalf of the State, I am of the view that no further interference is warranted in the present writ petition.

Accordingly, the present writ petition stands dismissed.
