The writ petition had been fixed today, to enable the police authorities to file a report with regard to the progress in the investigation. The allegation of the petitioner was that the police authorities had failed and neglected to act in accordance with law.

The report filed by the Officer-in-Charge, Jangipara Police Station is taken on record. It appears that the investigations against the respondent nos.3 to 6 have been concluded and charge-sheets have been filed.

With regard to the Jangipara Police Station Case No.27 of 2021 dated February 3, 2021, under Sections 341/323/325/506/34 of the Indian Penal Code, against the respondent nos.3 to 6, the investigation was completed and a charge-sheet was filed vide Jangipara Police Station Chargesheet no.45 of 2021 under Sections 341/323/506/34 of the Indian Penal Code. The case is pending before the learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Serampore, Hooghly and September 19, 2022 has been fixed for appearance of the all accused persons, including the respondent nos.3 to 6.

With regard to the Jangipara Police Station Case No.32 of 2021 dated February 8, 2021, under Sections 341/323/504/506 of the Indian Penal Code, it appears that a charge-sheet has been filed vide Jangipara Police Station Charge-sheet no.24 of 2021 dated February 22, 2021, under Sections 341/323/505/506 of the Indian Penal Code against the accused persons, including the petitioner. The case is pending before the learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Serampore, Hooghly and October 20, 2022 has been fixed for appearance of the accused persons, including the petitioner.

Under such circumstances, nothing further remains to be decided in this writ petition.

Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. The petitioner is at liberty to approach the appropriate trial court, where the trial is pending.

However, there will be no order as to costs.

All the parties are directed to act on the basis of the server copy of this order.
