In the matter of : Farida Begum @ Farida Khatun Hakim Shaikh @ Farida Abdul Hakim Shaikh ..... petitioner Mr. Satadru Lahiri Mr. Safdar Azam ....For the petitioner Mr. Saibal Bapuli, Ld. APP Mr. Arani Bhattacharya .....For the State It has been submitted by Mr. Satadru Lahiri, learned advocate for the petitioner, that the petitioner is in custody for about 124 days. Mr. Lahiri further submits that a passport was issued in favour of the petitioner in the year 1997 upon verification of all the relevant documents by the Regional Passport Office, Kolkata.

Mr. Saibal Bapuli, learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the State, produces a letter dated June 28, 2021, from the Office of the Regional Passport Officer, Kolkata, which shows that a passport issued in favour of the petitioner in the year 1997. Let the letter be kept with the record.

Mr. Bapuli further draws the attention of the Court to the case record wherefrom it appears that the investigating officer found the reference of the AADHAAR Card and Voter Identity Card of the petitioner in the web portal of the relevant departments. In view of the aforesaid facts, I am of the opinion that further detention of the petitioner in custody may not be necessary.

Accordingly, the petitioner shall be enlarged on bail subject to furnishing a bond of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees ten thousand only), with two sureties of like amount each, one of whom must be local, to the satisfaction of the learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Basirhat, North 24-Parganas.

The application for bail, being CRM 5506 of 2021, is allowed.
