1. Affidavit of service filed on behalf of the petitioners is taken on record.

2. Present writ petition has been filed, inter alia, praying for direction upon the concerned police authorities to take cognizance of the offence on the basis of the complaint lodged by the petitioner no. 1 on 30th May, 2026 and to take necessary steps against the miscreants.

3. State respondents and respondent nos. 5 to 8 are represented by learned advocates.

4. On behalf of the State respondents a communication dated 18th June, 2026 of Officer-in-Charge of Moyna Police Station, Purba Medinipur is filed and same is taken on record. Copies of said communication dated 18th June, 2026 are made over to learned advocates representing the petitioners and respondent nos. 5 to 8.

5. It is disclosed in said communication that based on the complaint lodged on behalf of the petitioners a criminal prosecution has been initiated by registering FIR being Moyna Police Station Case No. 219 of 2026 dated 13th June, 2026.

6. Since a prosecution has already been initiated, at this stage no further order need be passed on this writ petition excepting giving direction upon the concerned police authority to take the investigation to its logical conclusion expeditiously and file report before the jurisdictional Magistrate.

7. Writ petition stands disposed of.

8. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties on usual undertaking. (Saugata Bhattacharyya, J.)
