The petitioner's grievance is that a plot of land belonging to him in Mouza Purba Bishnupur has been acquired by the Government, but no compensation for the same has been granted to him. The petitioner filed several applications before the Block Development Officer which were not considered.

The State submits that competent authority to deal with such grievance is the Managing Director, West Bengal Highway Development Corporation Limited who is the respondent no.3 in the writ petition.

Having considered the submissions made by the parties and considering material on record, I dispose of the writ petition with liberty to the petitioner to make an application stating his grievance before the respondent no.3 within a week from date.

The respondent shall consider and dispose of the said application within eight weeks after receipt of the application after affording the interested parties including the petitioner a right of hearing, in accordance with law. WPA 13319 of 2021 is disposed of accordingly. There shall be no order as to costs.

Since no affidavit has been invited, the allegations made in the writ petition are deemed to be not admitted. Urgent certified website copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
