Report in the form of affidavit affirmed by the Special Secretary, Home & Hill Affairs Department on 23rd April, 2024 is taken on record.

It appears therefrom that the date for payment of revised rent to the petitioners will be with effect from 1st April, 2024 till completion of the new model Pandabeswar Police Station and handing over possession to the land owners.

A sum of Rs. 4,92,730/- only has been approved by the Governor on account of payment of revised rent of existing rented accommodation of the police station with effect from 1st April, 2024.

Learned senior advocate representing the alleged contemnor relies upon the Notice Inviting E-Tender and work order issued for construction of the police station along with different buildings.

It appears that the work order has been issued in favour of the successful tenderer on 14th March, 2024 and the time period for completion of work is 730 days.

It has been submitted that work has already been commenced.

The alleged contemnor is to ensure that the construction work is completed within the time period as mentioned in the work order and the relocation shall be made immediately thereafter.

The alleged contemnor is directed to made payment of the revised rent to the petitioners at the earliest but positively by 3rd May, 2024.

The contempt application stands disposed of.
