1. Affidavit of service filed on behalf of petitioner is taken on record.

2. Petitioner, inter alia, prays for correction of record of rights in connection with land and there is another prayer to register FIR by the police authority based on complaint lodged.

3. State respondents are represented by Mr.

Suryaneel Das, learned Additional Government Pleader.

4. Having considered the case made out in this writ petition it appears that primarily writ petition is filed seeking correction of record of rights being prayer (a) for which petitioner needs to approach appropriate forum. Police authority is not the appropriate authority to take steps for correction of record of rights.

5. With regard to prayer for registering FIR there is an alternative remedy available under Section 175(3) BNSS, 2023 by approaching jurisdictional Magistrate.

In this regard

reliance is placed on the judgment of Hon'ble Supreme Court reported in (2007) 6 SCC 171 (Aleque Padamsee and Others vs. Union of India & Others).

6. In aforesaid conspectus writ petition is not entertained and same stands dismissed.

7. However, this order shall not preclude the petitioner to approach the appropriate forum in pursuit of remedy.
