The grievance of the petitioners is that no final order has been passed after the case of the petitioner No.1 was taken up for consideration on 25.07.2019 by the Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Higher Education.

The petitioner is a retired employee. He has moved the instant writ petition praying for incorporating the name of his second wife in his service records. The hearing was given to the petitioner No.1 in compliance of the order passed by this Court on 15.03.2019 in W.P. No. 3943 (W) of 2019.

As it has been submitted by the petitioners that the matter is kept pending for a considerable period of time and the petitioner No.1 is suffering from various old age ailments, accordingly the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing

the concerned respondent to consider and dispose of the prayer of the petitioner No.1 in accordance with law at the earliest, but positively within a period of four weeks from the date of communication of the copy of this order.

In the event the authority is required to conduct a further hearing, then notice shall be given to the petitioner No.1 and permission may be given to the authorized representative of the petitioner No.1 to represent the petitioner.

The concerned authority shall pass a reasoned order and communicate the same to the petitioners immediately thereafter. The writ petition stands disposed of.

There shall, however, be no order as to costs. Urgent certified copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon completion of necessary formalities. (Amrita Sinha, J.)
