2. None appeared on behalf of the petitioner on earlier occasion.

3. No affidavit-in-opposition and no affidavit-in-reply have been filed by the parties as yet.

4. This case is pending since 2010, almost 15 years have been passed.

5. This writ petition has been filed by the writ petitioner seeking direction upon the respondents to take appropriate steps to promote the petitioner to the post of Secretary in accordance with the Rule 5 (b) (ii) of the West Bengal Gram Panchayet Recruitment Rules 2007 forthwith.

6. Considering the nature of the prayer and long pendency of this case, it seems that the writ petitioner is not interested to proceed with instant petition on the ground that either the purpose of filing the writ petition has been resolved or the petitioner has abandoned his prayer due to passage of time.

7. In view of the above facts, the writ petition being WPA 10293 of 2010 is dismissed without any order as to costs.

8. Interim order, if any, stands vacated.

9. All parties shall act on the basis of a server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court without insisting upon production of a certified copy thereof.
