1. Affidavit of service filed in Court today is taken on record.

2. The petitioner prays for appointment on compassionate ground. Her father was serving as a headmaster of a secondary school. He diedin- harness on 30th September, 2017.

3. An application was made seeking compassionate appointment by the petitioner on 16th July, 2018. There is no proof of service of the said prayer to the District Inspector of Schools.

4. The school forwarded the petitioner's prayer to the District Inspector of Schools on 14th March, 2019. There is no response from the end of the District Inspector of Schools till date.

5. Learned advocate representing the State respondents is not ready with proper instruction in the matter.

6. In view of the above, the instant writ petition stands disposed of by directing the District Inspector of Schools, Secondary Education, South 24 Parganas to take a decision on the petitioner's prayer seeking compassionate appointment strictly in accordance with law and the prevailing guidelines at the earliest but positively within a period of twelve weeks from the date of communication of this order.

7. A reasoned order shall be passed and communicated to the petitioner immediately thereafter.

8. If the prayer of the petitioner is allowed, then necessary consequential steps shall be taken by the aforesaid respondent without any further delay.

9. The writ petition stands disposed of.

10. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities. (Amrita Sinha, J.)
