The petitioner has approached this Court praying for a direction upon the University of Calcutta for rectification of the marks which has been uploaded in her mark-sheet in the 5th Semester of the subject Climate Change Vulnerability and Adaptation (GEOADSEA2) (Theory). The College has intimated the petitioner that she has obtained 44 marks out of 50 marks but due to inadvertence the marks uploaded in the University portal is only 04 instead of 44 marks.

The College has admitted and intimated the inadvertent error on their part to the University for rectification and for issuance of a fresh mark-sheet in favour of the petitioner sometimes in May 2021. According to the petitioner, admission to the master degree courses has already begun and if the fresh mark-sheet is not issued in her favour, she will not be in a position to get admitted in the master degree course.

The learned advocate appearing for the College submits that it was an unintentional error and immediately upon detection of the same, the University has been requested to do the needful.

The learned advocate appearing for the University submits that though they were intimated sometime back but the corrected mark-sheet could not be prepared, as this is a very new type of difficulty which the University is facing this year.

In view of the submissions made hereinabove, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the concerned officer of the University of Calcutta to take prompt necessary steps to issue the rectified marksheet in favour of the petitioner in respect of the 5th Semester Theory Examination of the subject Climate Change Vulnerability and Adaptation (GEOA-DSEA2) at the earliest, but positively within 10th September, 2021. WPA 13495 of 2021 stands disposed of.
