Mondal ...for the respondent no.5 to 7 Mr. Suman Ghosh, Mr. Siddhartha Ghosh ...for the State Petitioners are aggrieved by the fact that inspite of Parnashree Police Station Case No.33/2023 having been registered for investigation on 27th January, 2023, no steps have been taken by the investigating agency to take the investigation of the case to its logical conclusion.

Learned advocate appearing for the State has submitted a report.

Report reflects that the investigating agency has already collected the documents under Section of the Cr.P.C.

Consequently, the said officer has submitted the required certified copies, steps have been taken for collection of the memorandum of acknowledgement and the receipt. Presently, the specimen signature of

the petitioners is required, consequently date has been fixed before the learned Court.

Having considered the stage of the investigation, I am of the view that the police authorities are taking steps, however, petitioners should coordinate and cooperate with the investigating officer of the case for specimen signature to be given before the learned Magistrate so that comparison can be made or opinion of the expert can be sought for by the investigating agency for establishing the charges relating to forgery. Be that as it may, the investigation commenced on January, 2023 almost two and half years have passed, accordingly police authorities are directed to take steps so that the investigation of the case can be taken to its logical conclusion within a reasonable period of time preferably within four months from the date of communication of this order.

With the aforesaid observations WPA 12799 of 2023 is disposed of.

Report so submitted by the State be kept with record.

Copy of the reported be handed over to the learned advocate appearing for the petitioners. All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent Photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
