1. The petitioner was employed as a Clerk with Knowledge of Computer Operation (CKCO) in Sonamukhi Development Block since 2010. He had thereafter been transferred and was continuing in service till he was faced with certain criminal proceedings in which he was arrested and was in prison for more than a year.

2. However, sometime in December 2022, he had been enlarged on bail and had thereafter applied to the Assistant Labour Commissioner, Bishnupur, being his place of posting at the material time, for being reinstated in service. Even though reminders were given as late as April 2026 to dispose of the representation of December 2022, no steps have been taken by the Assistant Labour Commissioner to dispose of the representation.

3. The respondent no. 5 is directed to treat this writ-petition as a representation and dispose of the same by July 24, 2026. He will pass a reasoned order while disposing of the representation and communicate the resultant order within a period of one week from July 24, 2026.

4. With the afore-stated directions, the writ-petition is disposed of. No order as to costs.
