...for the State An innocuous prayer is made on behalf of the petitioner for expeditious disposal of the original application being O.A. No. 76 of 2020.

The matter is fixed for hearing on 17th February, 2022 before the learned Tribunal. We have been informed that although, the matter was fixed on 17th May, 2021, no hearing actually took place.

In view of the aforesaid, we request the West Bengal Land Reforms and Tenancy Tribunal to hear the matter on the date fixed without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties unless it is unavoidable.

The respondent authorities shall file their affidavit-inopposition within eight weeks from date. Reply thereto, if any, be filed four weeks thereafter.

The matter should be treated as ready for hearing on the adjourned date.

The learned Tribunal is also requested to dispose of the original application as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of three months from the next date. The writ petition stands disposed of with the aforesaid directions.

It is made clear that we have not gone into the merits of this application.
