Public Prosecutor Mrs. Sonali Das ... ... for the State It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that he is in custody for about eight months. It is further submitted there is no direct evidence connecting him with the murder. Accordingly, he prays for bail. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor opposes the prayer for bail and submits petitioner had motive to commit the crime. He was seen entering the house of the deceased prior to the incident. We have considered the materials on record. Statements of witnesses show there was monetary dispute between the parties. Victim was alone in the house and petitioner was seen entering the house of the deceased. They had a hot altercation. On the next morning, dead body of the victim was recovered.

In view of the aforesaid clinching materials and gravity of the offence, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage. The application for bail is thus rejected.
