1. Heard learned Counsel for both the parties.
2. This petition for anticipatory bail being CRM (A) 2153 of 2023 arises out of Maidan Police Station Case No. 14 dated 23.02.2023 under Sections 341/324/326/427/506(ii)/34 IPC.
3. The petitioner who is stated to be a coach of Punjab Hockey Club is alleged to have led his team to attack members of the rival team. In the transaction, some of the members of the rival team are stated to have sustained some simple injuries like laceration, etc. and it is fairly submitted at the Bar that none of the injured has sustained any bony injury or none was hospitalized for a period of 20 days or more.
4. The injured persons are stated to have been discharged on the same day after first aid. The investigation is stated to have progressed substantially.
5. Considered the materials placed by learned Counsel for the parties including the statement of the witnesses.
6. Regard being had to such facts and submissions, factum of permanent residence of the petitioners, nature of allegation, nature of injury sustained by the victim and substantial progress in the investigation, it is directed that the petitioner shall be released on bail by the Arresting Officer in the event of his arrest on such terms and conditions as deemed just and proper in the facts and circumstances of the case.
7. Accordingly, the prayer for the anticipatory bail is allowed.
