Mr. Asif Iqbal Ahmed ... for the petitioner Mr. S. S. Koley ... for the WBSEDCL The grievance of the petitioner is directed against disconnection of the electricity connection to the premises of the petitioner.

It is submitted on behalf of the WBSEDCL, that there is an aggregate amount of Rs.5,25,716/-, which is due and payable by the petitioner. Admittedly, the petitioners are enjoying two agricultural connections and a commercial connection and are in the business of fisheries and pisciculture. By an order dated 18th June, 2026, the petitioner was directed to take instructions as to the manner and mode that in which the outstanding dues aggregating to Rs.5,25,716/- were to be paid.

The petitioner is represented and is unable to provide any instructions as to the manner of payment. The prayer for installments is without any legal basis. The petitioners are running their business operations and supplying electricity to third parties through an agricultural connection. In

such circumstances, there is no equity in favour of the petitioner. The plea of installments is misconceived and ill-advised. In view of the above, there the no merit in the writ petition. WPA 13186 of 2026 stands dismissed.

Liberty is granted to the petitioner to approach the WBSEDCL and make full and complete payment in accordance with law.

WBSEDCL is also permitted to take necessary steps for recovery of their dues.
