The petitioners are students of Aliah University. The petitioners in this case have challenged the order of punishment imposed upon them by an order dated February 20, 2023.

After perusing the said order, without going into any other aspect of the matter, this Court is of the view that the university should revisit the order keeping in mind the academic interest of the students.

It has been submitted by the university that presently there is no Vice-Chancellor at the University.

In that view of the matter, I authorise the Registrar of the University to take steps to reconsider the order of punishment dated February 20, 2023 within a period of two weeks from date.

Accordingly, WPA 12891 of 2023 is disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
