The petitioners seek expeditious disposal of G.R. 56 of 2007 pending before the learned Metropolitan Magistrate, 9th Court, Calcutta, presently redesignated as the learned Judicial Magistrate, 9th Court, Calcutta.

Heard learned counsels for the parties.

It appears that the case is pending since 2007 and out of eleven accused persons, warrant of arrest was issued against accused nos. 7 and 11 since they failed to appear before the learned trial Court on the date fixed. Charges are yet to be framed.

In view of the age of the case, the learned trial Court is directed to exhaust all procedure for securing attendance of the absentee accused persons before him and take the proceeding to its logical conclusion within one year from the next date of hearing fixed before him, without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties, in accordance with law.

CRR 2043 of 2024 is disposed of.
