Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that due to physical and mental torture meted out upon her by the private respondents, she lodged a complaint before the Inspector in Charge, Chakdah Police Station, Nadia which was registered as Case No. 512 of 2022 dated August 03, 2022. After the accused were released on bail, they started pressurizing the petitioner to withdraw the complaint and also attempted to violate the petitioner for which a further complaint was lodged by her on May 26, 2025 which has been registered as Chakdah Police Station Case No. 518 of 2025 dated May 26, 2025.

Learned counsel for the State submits that charge sheet has been submitted in both the cases upon completion of investigation.

On prayer of the petitioner, liberty is granted to ventilate her grievance before the jurisdictional

Magistrate. Since the petitioner apprehends threat to her life and liberty, she can approach the learned Magistrate under the Witness Protection Scheme, 2018. In the meantime, the police authority shall keep strict vigil in the area in order to avoid any untoward incident and shall render assistance/protection to the petitioner as and when sought.

The writ petition is disposed of.

There shall, however, be no order as to costs. Since no affidavit is invited, the allegations contained in the writ petition are deemed not to have been admitted.
