Petitioner prays for expediting the process of investigation of Nadial Police Station Case No. 33 dated 07.03.2024 as his liberty is being curtailed because of pendency of the investigation.

I find that the investigation of the case commenced on 07.03.2024. Having regard to the fact that the subject-matter of investigation relates to allegation of cheating and forgery and such type of investigation is based on report of experts, I am of the view that in case the investigating authorities have been able to obtain the report of the experts in respect of ascertaining the truthfulness of the allegation of cheating and forgery, unnecessary delay may not be created in submitting the report under Section 173 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Port Division will monitor the investigation of the case so

that the investigation is taken to its logical conclusion at the earliest.

Learned advocate appearing for the private respondent nos. 10, 12, 13 and 14 submits that the private respondents are also suffering because of the act and activities and the criminal cases initiated one after another by the present petitioner. Be that as it may, as directed above, the police authorities would expedite the process of investigation.

With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition being WPA 14047 of 2024 is disposed of. There will be no order as to costs.

All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
